You can especially be affected with histamine if you are on a low carb diet or in the trend of having cultured, cured or smoked foods. Though this reaction subsides after a few hours, it can last for about 24 hours, though this happens only rarely.

- Beans and Pulses like soy beans, chickpeas, peanuts etc
- Chocolate & cocoa products
- Most Citric fruits- Lemon, Orange etc
- Wheat germ
- Additives like Benzoate, Food Dyes, Glutamate
- Canned or pickled foods.
- Meat products that are smoked like salami, sausages, ham etc.
- Matured cheese
- Nuts – cashew nuts, walnuts etc
- Vinegar and salty snacks
Be sure to avoid these foods and have more of the low histamine foods. If you keep having allergic reactions that keep coming up again and again, visit your doctor to be sure.
